I was born in Bolivia, but I usually tell people that I'm from San Antonio. It’s not only where I grew up, it’s where I was introduced to the food business, and where I got my first restaurant job. My grandfather owned a tortilla factor in San Antonio. That’s where I went after school; that’s what I did on my summer vacation. I learned a lot about the business from my grandfather’s factory. Today, I own three restaurants in East Austin - El Chile, El Chilito, and Stortini.
